Jackie Hill Perry is back for The Happy Hour #428! Most of you know Jackie but if you’re new around here, Jackie Hill Perry is a faithful follower of Jesus, author, and speaker. She recently released her newest book Holier Than Thou which I absolutely devoured!
In today’s show, Jackie and I chat all about the holiness of God, what it means, and why it’s important to understand. As believers, pursuing holiness feels like an impossible thing to do, but it’s not something that should produce self-centered shame. We can look to God as the author and perfecter of our faith, and know that He will finish the work He has started in us. I also love how Jackie reminds us that understanding God’s holiness changes the way we see Him. She says, “If God can’t sin against me, that means that all of His dealings towards me are good. All of His words towards me are wise and perfect.” Seeing Him as holy truly reminds us that He is a good, good God.
