the happy hour #452: terror and joy during hurricane katrina with mitchell johnson

WHAT YOU WILL HEAR:

Today’s guest is Mitchell Johnson, who works at The Austin Stone as a college director!

Mitchell was just 12-years-old when he was caught in the middle of one of the worst natural disasters in the U.S.: Hurricane Katrina. He shares about his experience of not yet knowing how severe the situation was, and within moments the entire first floor was submerged in water. It took four days to be rescued and he had to be separated from his mom so she could seek help. He walks us through his journey from waiting to be rescued on a bridge to being taken to safety in Wichita Falls, Texas.
